Butler Snow LLP is pleased to announce that Meade W. Mitchell will serve as 2025-2026 Chair-Elect of the ABA’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). Mitchell recently assumed his position as Chair-Elect and will serve as 2026-2027 Chair of the section. He has extensive experience with the ABA’s TIPS section, having served in many leadership roles, including most recently as Vice-Chair.

Meade W. Mitchell
Bringing over 30 years of experience in the legal field, Mitchell previously served as the Practice Group Leader for the firm’s Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation group and concentrates his practice on product liability, pharmaceutical, toxic tort, environmental, and transportation litigation. He represents clients in a variety of product liability disputes throughout the United States, including serving as national/legal counsel for manufacturers and distributors. Mitchell also litigates premises, trucking and consumer protection suits.
Mitchell is recognized as a top fifty lawyer in Mississippi by Super Lawyers®. He is AV®-Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell® and recognized by BL Rankings, The Best Lawyers in America® and Who’s Who Legal in Product Liability. Mitchell is also involved in various professional and community organizations, including previously serving as Chair of the Litigation Section of the Mississippi Bar and as President of The Mississippi Bar, the Capital Area Bar Association and Jackson Young Lawyers. He has also chaired numerous committees of the Mississippi Bar. Mitchell is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Mississippi Bar Foundation and a Bencher of the American Inns of Court, Charles Clark Chapter.
He previously served on the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership Board of Directors, as President of Leadership Greater Jackson Alumni Association, and as a Fundraiser Chair and Civic Club President. Mitchell serves as Butler Snow’s representative to the Lex Mundi Legal Network.
Mitchell earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law, both with honors.
