Butler Snow Attorney Denver Smith to Speak at DRI 2026 Products Liability Conference

Butler Snow attorney N. Denver Smith will speak at the DRI 2026 Products Liability Conference on February 19, 2026. The full conference will be held from February 18-20 in San Antonio, Texas, and brings together defense attorneys, in-house counsel, and industry professionals from across the country.

The DRI Products Liability Conference is a premier national program focused on emerging trends and evolving challenges in product liability litigation. Programming addresses key issues such as defending design defect claims, navigating regulatory expectations, leveraging technology in litigation, and responding to the increasing use of artificial intelligence in product liability cases.

N. Denver Smith

Smith is a member of Butler Snow’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation group and has been recognized for his work across several litigation disciplines. He was named a BL Rankings, The Best Lawyers in America® “One to Watch” for 2026 in commercial litigation, insurance law, labor and employment litigation, and product liability litigation (defendants), and was also selected to Charleston Business Magazine’s 2025 Legal Elite list.

Smith maintains an active leadership role within the Defense Research Institute (DRI), where he has served on the Young Lawyers Steering Committee, including as Chair of the Substantive Law Liaison Committee for 2024–2025, Co‑Chair of the Recruiting Committee for 2023–2024, and Vice‑Chair from 2022–2023. He has also participated in DRI’s Diversity Rainmaker Mentoring Program and was selected for the American College of Trial Lawyers’ 2024 ACTL Diversity Trial Advocacy Program.

In addition to his national involvement, Smith is active in South Carolina legal and professional organizations. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar’s Young Lawyers Division, serving on its Professional Development Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Palmetto Society for Human Resource Management. Smith is also involved with the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce through its Charleston Young Professionals organization.

Smith earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Coastal Carolina University and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
