Butler Snow Attorney Dalton L. Kelley Named 2026 Rising Star By Colorado Super Lawyers®

Butler Snow LLP is pleased to announce that Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers® has recognized Dalton L. Kelley in its 2026 edition of Colorado Super Lawyers®. Kelley was named a Rising Star for his work in Government Finance in Denver, Colorado.

Super Lawyers®, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous process, including a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. Each year, no more than 2.5% of lawyers in the state are named to the Rising Stars list. Super Lawyers® identifies Rising Stars as those attorneys, 40 years old or younger, who have made exceptional contributions in a particular practice area for 10 years or less.

Dalton L. Kelley | Government Finance

At Butler Snow, Kelley is a member of the firm’s Public Finance, Tax Incentives & Credit Markets group, representing governmental entities and other transaction participants in a wide range of public finance and economic development matters. His experience includes advising on tax and debt elections, public-private partnerships, and the formation of quasi-municipal entities, including reviewing service plans related to the creation of metropolitan districts. He has worked on diverse financing structures, including general obligation bonds, user-fee and excise-tax revenue bonds, certificates of participation, lease transactions, tax-increment financings, and private activity bonds. Kelley’s clients include municipalities, counties, special districts, school districts, transportation agencies, urban renewal authorities, downtown development authorities, and underwriters.

He has been recognized by BL Rankings, The Best Lawyers in America® on the Ones to Watch list for Public Finance Law (2024-2026) and has served on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Lawyers Committee since 2022.

Kelley earned his bachelor’s degree and an M.P.A from California State University, Bakersfield. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.
