Butler Snow LLP is pleased to welcome attorney John C. Lovell to the firm’s Dallas, Texas, office. Lovell is joining as a member of the Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation practice group.

John C. Lovell
Lovell is a member of the firm’s Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation group and focuses his practice on all aspects of civil litigation. He has extensive experience in all phases of complex litigation, including preparing for trial, dispositive motions and hearings, mediation, and discovery. His experience ranges from cases for high-profile, multi-national corporations to owner-operated transportation companies and small business owners. Prior to joining Butler Snow, John gained invaluable experience in the maritime industry, including litigating cargo contamination claims, personal injury of Jones Act seamen and longshore workers, charter party disputes, and environmental regulations. He has analyzed contracts for defense and indemnity, including offshore and onshore master drilling agreements, successfully defending numerous cases. He also has experience across commercial litigation and insurance defense.
Lovell is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, as well as the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center.
