Beau Cole Named to Executive Committee of Hinds County Economic Development Authority

Butler Snow attorney Edderek L. (Beau) Cole was recently selected to serve on the Executive Committee for the Hinds County Economic Development Authority, where he previously served as a Trustee. The organization serves as the primary business and employment center for the Greater Jackson metropolitan area and seeks to establish, maintain, and carry on a program of diversified economic development projects for the benefit of Hinds County, Mississippi.

Cole is a member of Butler Snow’s Products, Catastrophic and Industrial Litigation Group and Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation Groups. Cole is an experienced trial attorney with recognized success defending everything from small but emotionally charged matters to high-stakes “bet the company” litigation. Additionally, he has represented major consumer product manufacturers, small businesses, and Fortune 100 companies in various litigated matters. 

Cole is an active member of various professional organizations, including previously serving on the Advisory Board of the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project and current, multi-term service as Chair of the Mississippi Bar Association’s Public Information Committee. In addition, he was previously a member of the Mississippi Center for Legal Services Board of Directors and Chair of the Mississippi Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission’s Delivery Committee.

Cole has received several distinctions, including being recognized by Super Lawyers®, Best Lawyers in America®, Martindale-Hubbell®, and the Mississippi Bar Association honored him with its Distinguished Service Award (2020). The Mississippi Business Journal selected him as a Top 10 Finalist for Mississippi’s Leading Attorneys (2016), and as one of its Leaders in Law (2015) and Top 50 Under 40 (2015). He is also a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.

Cole received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and obtained his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law.
