Lee Adair Floyd

Office Information
Lee focuses her practice on the defense of manufacturers in high exposure products liability claims pending in Virginia and across the United States. She has defended automobile, pharmaceutical, and industrial manufacturers as both national and local trial counsel. In addition to her product liability practice, Lee has substantial experience defending energy producers in mass tort litigation. Her mass tort representation ranges from catastrophic loss claims stemming from industrial explosions to environmental claims arising from alleged groundwater contamination.

- Defended a coal mining company in extensive litigation resulting from the Upper Big Branch mining disaster in Montcoal, West Virginia.

- Authored Amicus brief in support of oil and gas producers in an appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court in dispute over rights, title, and interests to coalbed methane. Dye v. CNX Gas Co., 784 S.E.2d 703 (Va. 2016)
- Obtained class action decertification in commercial royalty dispute related to coal, oil, and gas interests. EQT Production Company v. Adair, 764 F.3d 347 (4th Cir. 2014)
- Performed extensive due diligence reviews for major natural gas producer in connection with a $1 billion joint venture agreement covering 500,000+ acres of Marcellus shale.
