He has experience in a wide variety of subject matters, including contractual disputes, fiduciary duty issues, and unfair competition claims, as well as trademark and copyright litigation.

Experience

  • Obtained $677,678.79 verdict in state court jury trial on behalf of managing partner in closely held partnership related to counterclaims of fraud by omission.  Jury determined liability in favor of client with the amount of damages determined by the judge.  Original multimillion dollar claims for breach of fiduciary duty against client were dismissed on summary judgment.  Jonathan King v. Dean Chase et. al., Chancery Court for Davidson County, Tennessee (2019).
  • Represented Defendant in week long federal jury trial related to multi-million dollar claims of copyright infringement of best practices training manuals.  Hiller, LLC v. Success Group International Learning Alliance, LLC, United States District Court of the Middle District of Tennessee (2019). 
  • Represented major hospital system in two-week bench trial against two competing hospital systems and successfully obtained certificate of need to build a freestanding emergency department just outside of Memphis, Tennessee.  In re Baptist Memorial Hospital, Administrative Law Judge for Health Services and Development Agency, appealed to Chancery Court for Davidson County, Tennessee  (2019).
  • Obtained $748,769.21 judgment in two day bench trial against attorneys who disseminated major construction company client’s confidential documents to third parties in violation of Court Orders.  In addition to the sanctions, the Court held the opposing attorneys in civil contempt of court.  Chase v. Stewart et. al., Circuit Court for Williamson County, Tennessee (2018).
  • Obtained $22.2 million jury verdict in federal jury trial on behalf of largest dental practice in Middle Tennessee against national dental insurance company related to constitutional violations of the First Amendment. Snodgrass-King Pediatric Dental Associations, P.C. et. Al. v. Dentaquest USA Insurance Co., Inc., United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee (2016).
  • Obtained full dismissal of breach of contract claim brought against Belmont University by former student related to a grade appeal.  Rice v. Belmont University, Chancery Court for Davidson County, Tennessee (2018).
  • Obtained Summary Judgment in favor of Plaintiff partnership against individual partner.  Judgment included Court Order that Defendant must sell his partnership interests to the Partnership as a remedy for his breaches of a Partnership Agreement.  440 Medical Group, et. al. v. Harvey L. Latimer, D.D.S., Chancery Court for Davidson County, Tennessee (2017).
  • Obtained Summary Judgment in favor of Defendant law firm in legal malpractice case arising out of immigration representation.  Beyond Tomorrow Energy Consultants et. al. v. Bellamy et. al., Circuit Court for Davidson County, Tennessee (2017).
  • Represented International Business Machines (IBM) in breach of contract case brought by Bridgestone Americas related to construction of tire maker’s nationwide order to cash process program and alleging more than $100 million in damages (2016).
