Amanda G. Taylor to Present on the Texas Citizens Participation Act at Upcoming State Bar of Texas Conferences

Butler Snow attorney Amanda G. Taylor is set to present on the Texas Citizens Participation Act (TCPA) at upcoming conferences presented by the State Bar of Texas. The TCPA is an anti-SLAPP statute used to dismiss a broad array of legal actions in Texas litigation, frequently resulting in appeal. Amanda will present on the statue, its 2019 amendments and recent trends in litigation at the following conferences:

Advanced Civil Trial – Aug. 19 and Oct. 28

Business Disputes – Sept. 10

Advanced Civil Appellate – Sept. 11

Advanced Business Law – Nov. 5

Amanda is also authoring a CLE paper on the TCPA.

Amanda is a board-certified civil appellate specialist who routinely represents clients in both district and appellate courts across Texas. Her practice areas are widely varied and include disputes regarding contracts, business organizations, employment, shareholders, fiduciaries, trusts, the TCPA, fraud/misrepresentation, real property, franchise and sales tax, and consumers. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as a Texas Super Lawyer for civil appellate practice every year since 2014 and was named as a Top 50 Central/West Texas Lawyer in 2018 and 2019. She was also honored as a Top Austin Attorney in Appellate Law by Austin Monthly in 2019 and 2020.

Amanda is actively involved in her State and Local Bar Associations.  She is a current member of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee, recently served as the Chair of the Austin Bar Civil Appellate Section, and is a former President of the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association. Amanda received her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law.
