James E. Bailey III Elected Vice President of Mid-South Commercial Law Institute

Butler Snow attorney James E. Bailey, III has been elected Vice President/President-Elect of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute (MSCLI). Bailey will serve as President for 2023-2024. Throughout its 40-plus year history, the MSCLI has conducted annual CLE seminars on commercial and bankruptcy law topics, which are planned and produced by the organization’s board of directors. Click here for more information about MSCLI.

Bailey is a member and a former leader of Butler Snow’s Finance, Real Estate and Restructuring practice group. He works with companies and individuals in business reorganizations, litigation, workouts and bankruptcy proceedings.

Bailey has been recognized by Lawdragon 500, Super Lawyers® as a Mid-South Super Lawyer, Best Lawyers in America® and Martindale-Hubbell® with an AV-Preeminent Peer Review rating.

Bailey is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a member of the American, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Memphis Bar Associations, a past Chair of the Tennessee Bar Association Bankruptcy Section, a Director of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute, and member of the Local Rules and Forms Committee of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Tennessee. He received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis.
