Benjamin Whitehouse to Serve as President of ICCIE Board

Butler Snow attorney Benjamin Arthur Whitehouse is set to serve as President of the governing board of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) for 2020-2021. Whitehouse served as Vice President for 2019-2020 and has served as a board member and course instructor for the organization since 2016.

“ICCIE delivers high quality educational resources to the captive insurance community. Their programs play a major role in defining and improving the professionalism and core competencies in our industry, and I am honored to have been chosen to serve in this important role,” said Whitehouse.

Whitehouse is a member of Butler Snow’s business department and practices within the regulatory and government relations practice group. He focuses his practice on general insurance and captive insurance matters. Whitehouse is a former supervising attorney and assistant general counsel of the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance as well as assistant attorney general for the state.

Whitehouse holds a certificate from the ICCIE as an Associate in Captive Insurance and previously held a certification as a Professional in Insurance Regulation by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Whitehouse also holds a master of laws in taxation from Boston University School of Law to support his work in captive insurance.
