Butler Snow Adds Two Public Finance Attorneys in Louisiana

Butler Snow announced today that Michael J. Busada and Thomas G. Hessburg have joined the firm as Of Counsel attorneys and will practice with the firm’s public finance, tax incentives and credit markets group. The addition of both Busada and Hessburg, who are located in Shreveport and Baton Rouge respectively, will expand Butler Snow’s public finance practice within Louisiana.

Busada focuses his practice on public finance, economic development and administrative law. Busada was the founder of the Busada Law Firm, and has practiced with some of Louisiana’s preeminent municipal finance and economic development attorneys.  In 2010, Busada helped revise Louisiana’s Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) economic development law.

Busada serves as the Honorary Commander of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate for the 2nd Bomb Wing of the United States Air Force and is on the board of the Shreveport-Bossier Military Affairs Council, Mikie Mahtook Foundation, and the Captain Shreve Alumni Association. Busada also serves as the General Counsel of the International Kappa Sigma Fraternity Endowment Fund. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, Shreveport Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association and American Bar Association.  Busada earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, and Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Hessburg focuses his practice on public finance, community property law, and mergers and acquisitions.

Hessburg is admitted to practice in Louisiana and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association.  He was the founding partner of the Louisiana firm of Dampf, Hessburg, Edwards, Thibaut and Aydell, LLC and previously served as an assistant district attorney in the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s office. Hessburg earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, and Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center.
