The laws regarding what employee activities are or are not paid work time are complicated and confusing. Even so, and employer's failure to comply with these laws can result in costly litigation and liability. This presentation provides an overview of applicable law, including recent cases involving "off the clock" claims. Attendees will receive guidance on common "work time" questions such as when the work day begins, when employees may be taken "off the clock" for breaks,a nd how to track "on call" time and travel time.
