Brande L. Boyd and Deondrey Rashad Russell Selected for National Bar Association’s Associate Advancement Academy for Excellence

Butler Snow attorneys Brande L. Boyd and Deondrey Rashad Russell have been selected as 2022-2023 Fellows of the National Bar Association’s Associate Advancement Academy for Excellence. The Academy is a tailored career advancement experience for Black attorneys within the first 3 years of practice in an AmLaw 200 firm. The 20 Fellows will participate in monthly educational and networking sessions, monthly mentoring check-ins with a law firm partner mentor and corporate counsel mentor and various NBA events throughout the year. Boyd practices with Butler Snow’s Business Services group. She focuses her practice on organizational transactions including, mergers and acquisitions, entity formations, and trademark protection activities. Before joining Butler Snow, she clerked for the Honorable Felicia Corbin Johnson of the Circuit Court Division 1.

Boyd earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Memphis.

Russell is a member of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Litigation Group. Since joining the Firm, he successfully represented clients before political party executive committees, Mississippi trial and appellate courts and multiple federal district courts across the nation.

Russell earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He also clerked for the Honorable Sean J. Tindell in the Mississippi Court of Appeals.
