Butler Snow attorney Melody McAnally has been elected as a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation. Invitations to membership, which is a position of honor, were extended to 26 attorneys for the 2020 Class. The Tennessee Bar Foundation honors attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the profession by electing them to membership as “Fellows.” McAnally will be honored at an event on April 22, 2022.
In accordance with the Foundation’s bylaws, attorneys elected as Fellows “…shall be limited to those outstanding lawyers, judges, and teachers of law licensed to practice for a period of fifteen years who have:
(a) demonstrated an uncompromised dedication to integrity and high personal and professional ethical standards;
(b) made outstanding and recognized contributions to the legal profession and to the public good;
(c) demonstrated a strong commitment to the published objectives and purposes of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.”

McAnally is a member of Butler Snow’s commercial litigation group and focuses her practice on data privacy and security. She is a Co-Team Leader of the firm’s Data Security and Privacy team, and advises clients on data security protection, data breach response and cyber-risk management. McAnally is an editor of and contributor to Butler Snow’s commercial litigation blog, BizLitNews Blog. She is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation, as well as Mid-South Super Lawyers® and Mid-South Rising Stars® in business litigation. McAnally is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, Vice Chair of the ABA TIPS Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee, and member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association, Association of Women Attorneys and Mississippi Bar Association. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Mississippi College where she was Editor-in-Chief of Law Review.
