Butler Snow Government Advisor Callon Schmid has been selected for the IV Class of Leadership Tennessee NEXT. The program selects 30 existing and emerging leaders across industries and the state to participate in in-depth personal and professional development while fostering a better understanding of the state. Schmid is a member of Butler Snow’s Regulatory & Government group. Prior to joining Butler Snow, Schmid served as a Legislative Liaison for Gov. Bill Lee’s office where she was responsible for analyzing proposed legislation from the General Assembly, advising the governor on policy positions, operating as the main point of contact for stakeholders and policymakers, and collaborating with legal offices to draft key legislation. Schmid also previously represented Gov. Bill Haslam and served as an Assistant Director of Constituent Services and Community Relations.
Schmid received her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and earned her Master of Public Administration and Policy degree from American University. In the community, Schmid volunteers at Tennessee Promise to assist high school seniors in applying for community colleges and colleges of applied technology.
