Butler Snow attorney Christopher L. McLemore will co-present at an upcoming CLE hosted by the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust & Estate Law on Tuesday, July 13. The CLE, titled “UK Tax Traps for the Unwary American,” will explore some of the common mistakes American lawyers make when dealing with UK assets and legal structures. McLemore represents high net worth families and their advisors with respect to U.S. federal income and estate and gift tax issues, with an emphasis on integrated U.S. /U.K. estate and tax planning. He also advises clients on the relinquishment of U.S. citizenship (expatriation) and relinquishment of lawful permanent residency (green card) status and on U.S. federal tax compliance.
McLemore has been recognized by Chambers HNW for Private Wealth Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. McLemore obtained his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame and is admitted to the New York State Bar.
