Butler Snow attorney Benjamin Arthur Whitehouse has been named to Captive Review’s 2021 Power 50 List. The annual list recognizes the 50 most influential captive insurance professionals from around the world. Honorees are champions of the captive insurance industry, dedicated professionals who are collegiate, innovative, committed, visible and have shown excellence over the past year. Whitehouse is a member of Butler Snow’s regulatory and government relations practice group and focuses his practice on general insurance and captive insurance matters. Whitehouse is a former supervising attorney and assistant general counsel of the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance as well as assistant attorney general for the state.

Whitehouse holds a certificate from the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) as an Associate in Captive Insurance and previously held a certification as a Professional in Insurance Regulation by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He currently serves as Chair of the Captive Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, as well as President of the ICCIE governing board. Whitehouse received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law. He also holds a master of laws in taxation from Boston University School of Law to support his work in captive insurance.
