Kathy Doelling has joined Butler Snow’s Health Law group as a Senior Compliance and Coding Advisor. She will work alongside the firm’s Health Law attorneys to advise healthcare clients on a variety of compliance and coding matters.
Prior to joining Butler Snow, Doelling served in a number of compliance and healthcare-related roles, including overseeing the compliance program for a large physician practice and managing a physician office coding and billing process, advising clients on reimbursement issues, including, but not limited to, federal health care policies, auditing medical records for fraud and abuse appeals, conducting compliance monitoring, auditing, diligence and internal investigations. She also previously served as member of a Deferred Prosecution Federal Monitor Team for a medical device company, as Compliance and Privacy Officer for a large mid-south trauma hospital and assisted an Internal Monitor in overseeing a HIPAA Security Corrective Action Plan in response to Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights Resolution Agreement.
Doelling is a member of the American Association of Professional Coders and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). She has earned several compliance and coding certifications, including the Healthcare Compliance Certification from HCCA.
