Joel Anderson Berly IV Joins Butler Snow’s Charleston Office

Joel (Jay) Anderson Berly IV has joined Butler Snow’s Charleston, S.C., office. He will practice with the firm’s commercial litigation group, focusing on a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters.

Prior to joining Butler Snow, he served as a law clerk to The Honorable R. Bryan Harwell, United States Chief District Judge for the District of South Carolina. He also clerked for The Honorable Mary Geiger Lewis, United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina before he joined Chief Judge Harwell’s chambers.

Berly is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston County Bar Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and his Master of Studies in Law and Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law.
