Butler Snow attorney Lea Ann Smith is set to present at the Defense Research Institute’s Litigation Skills Workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 19 preceding the annual Toxic Tort and Environmental Law Conference in Phoenix, Ariz. The workshop, titled “From Blank Canvas to Masterpiece: The Art of the 30 (b)(6) Deposition,” will explore preparation of corporate witnesses, effective defense of corporate deposition and ways to deal with common plaintiff tactics to attack corporate witnesses. The workshop will offer presentations from various speakers and allow attendees to prepare and defend a witness during a mock deposition.
As a member of the firm’s Product Liability, Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation group, Smith focuses her practice on environmental litigation and asbestos, silica and toxic tort litigation. She has been recognized as a Mid-South Rising Star by Super Lawyers® and Best Lawyers in America®.
Smith is a member of the Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations. She received her undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University and her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law.
