Blake C. Sharpton to Speak at Development Authority Training Session

Butler Snow is pleased to announce Blake C. Sharpton will speak at the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s development authority training session on March 15.

The session will bring members of development authority boards together to discuss the responsibilities and roles they serve within the local economic development process. Blake will present the “Financing Economic Development” section where participants will learn the basics involved in financing economic development, including financing the operations of the development authority incentives, deal closing funds and bonds.

Blake is a member of the firm’s public finance, tax incentives and credit markets group. He has extensive experience in public finance and projects, asset-based lending, real estate lending and securitized financings. Blake is AV-Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell® and was named to Georgia’s Legal Elite by Acquisition International Magazine and to Legal Elite – Public Finance by Georgia Trend.

Blake is a member of the American and Macon Bar Associations, the State Bar of Georgia and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Mercer University.
