BATON ROUGE, La., Jan. 24, 2016 – Butler Snow is pleased to announce that James R. “Jim” Austin has joined the Butler Snow team in Baton Rouge, La. Austin will practice with Butler Snow’s finance, real estate and restructuring group.
“Jim brings great expertise to our team in Baton Rouge,” said Don Clark, Jr., chairman of Butler Snow. “His 38 years of legal experience will be an asset to our finance, real estate and restructuring group.”
Austin focuses his practice in the areas of banking and finance, real estate transactions and governance. He has legal experience both within financial institutions and as outside counsel, working in the areas of debtor/creditor relations, federal and state banking regulations and governmental relations.
Austin has been recognized by Louisiana Super Lawyers® for business, and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Louisiana Bankers Association’s Bank Counsel Committee, Louisiana State Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the UCC Committee and the Security Device Committee of the Louisiana State Law Institute. Austin is admitted to practice in Louisiana.
Austin received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University.
