April N. Knox Selected to 2017 Class of Leadership Sumner

We are proud to announce that April N. Knox has been selected to the 2017 class of Leadership Sumner.

Leadership Sumner is a personal development program designed to motivate participants to develop and enhance their leadership in addressing Sumner County needs and issues. Leadership Sumner offers a practical, supportive platform for community and business leaders to focus on enhancing the quality of life for all citizens of the county.

Each spring, Leadership Sumner identifies individuals that work or live in Sumner County who have demonstrated civic involvement and have appropriate career experience and long-term leadership potential. Participants visit city and county political bodies in session, varied businesses that affect the county, selected educational institutions, important historic sites, and agencies that support the county.

Founded in 1988, Leadership Sumner was formed to educate potential and active community leaders about the history, politics and culture of Sumner County and to improve the communication between all county leaders to better maintain and improve the quality of life. Well over 500 participants have graduated from the program since it began more than 25 years ago.

April concentrates her practice in the areas of employment litigation, employment counseling, labor and employment and commercial litigation. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association (Secretary), and Lawyers’ Association for Women. April earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and master’s degree from Syracuse University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University.

We congratulate April on her selection to this exciting program. This selection proves April’s commitment to her community and we look forward to April’s future involvement in Sumner County.
