Butler Snow is proud to announce that Stephen C. Edds has been elected to the Tougaloo College Board of Trustees. Edds’ nomination was confirmed during the October meeting of the Board of Trustees.

Edds is a member of the Butler Snow’s public finance, tax incentives and credit markets practice group. He focuses his practice on government finance, economic development incentives and government relations. Edds was also recently named chairman of the Mississippi Tort Claims Board.
He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for public finance law, project finance law and government relations practice since 2005 and was also recognized in the area of economic development law in 2016. Edds has been recognized in Chambers USA America’s Leading Business Lawyers as a leading corporate/commercial municipal finance lawyer in Mississippi since 2007 and has also been consistently recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers.
Edds is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Mississippi Bar Foundation. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, National Association of Bond Lawyers and Leadership Jackson. He serves as chairman of the ABA standing committee for Silver Gavel Awards and is a member of the ABA standing committee on public education. Edds also currently serves as the chairperson elect of the Mississippi Arts Commission. He received both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi.
