Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Stephen E. Weyl joined the firm and will practice in the firm’s public finance, tax incentives and credit markets groups.
Weyl brings with him years of public finance experience that is national in scope. Through his work in tax-exempt financing transactions, he has represented borrowers, investment bankers, credit facility providers, bond purchasers and corporate trustees, as well as served as bond counsel. His experience allows him to assist clients in all aspects of public finance, including federal and state tax issues, securities matters and derivative transactions. His clients include colleges and universities, independent schools, hospitals, health systems, nursing and senior living facilities, student loan programs, social service agencies and cultural institutions. Weyl will practice in Boston.
Weyl is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for public finance law and is currently designated in Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers as a Band 1 Corporate/Commercial Finance attorney.
Weyl is a member of the American, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island Bar Associations. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, currently serving as vice chair of the General Law and Practice Committee. His other memberships include the American Health Lawyers Association and the National Business Officers Association. Weyl received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his Juris Doctor from Boston University.
