Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Stephen C. Parker has joined the firm in Memphis and will practice with the Commercial Litigation Group. Parker recently retired after 30 years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
“Steve is a great addition to the firm and our expanding Commercial Litigation group,” said Donald Clark, Jr., chairman of Butler Snow. “His broad experience is going to be a great asset for our Commercial Litigation group and our clients.”
Parker earned his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor at the University of Memphis. He served as a member of the Memphis Police Department before beginning his career as an attorney in the Office of the Independent Counsel where he was detailed from the Department of Justice for the Whitewater Investigation under Judge Kenneth Star. Parker then went on to become an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
Parker has been the recipient of the Attorney General’s John Marshall Award, the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award, the Assistant Attorney General’s Civil Rights Distinguished Service Award, and two commendation letters from the Attorney General. He has also been named the Cecil B. Humphreys School of Law – Adjunct Professor of the Year.
