Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC (Butler Snow) announced today its international expansion and opening of the firm’s London office during a panel discussion on the emerging global economic landscape – featuring government leaders from the United Kingdom and the United States.

Parliament Members Hugh Bayley of the Labour Party, and Tobias Ellwood of the Conservative Party, were joined by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and former U.S. Rep. John Tanner for the event at The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.

Butler Snow’s new London office will provide practical, solution driven U.S. tax advice for high net worth families, their businesses and their advisors. The office will also focus on cross-border U.S. tax issues, particularly in the interplay between the U.S. and the U.K. tax systems.

“The opening our London office is a milestone for the firm,” said Donald Clark, Jr., Chairman of Butler Snow. “This office will provide an opportunity to better serve existing clients in Europe and Asia, as well as U.S. based clients.”

Butler Snow offers a full range of business and litigation services across a variety of legal practices. The firm has a well-established tax and wealth management group that helps businesses and individual clients with a variety of tax issues – from sophisticated business transactions to complex individual tax planning. The firm’s expertise spans all aspects of international, domestic and local taxation and financial management issues. Butler Snow is also known for its strong government relations practice, which includes the leadership of Barbour, Lott and Tanner.

“Our new London office will help us better serve existing and new clients, particularly those with connections to the United Kingdom and to Asia. We are thrilled with its opening as well as with the addition of London-based attorney Brad Westerfield, who will head the new office,” said Kurt Rademacher, director of Butler Snow’s International Tax Practice. “We look forward to providing all aspects of U.S. tax and wealth planning advice in London – and around the globe – for many years to come.”

The firm has grown to nearly 250 attorneys representing local, regional, national and international clients from 14 offices and will continue strategic growth in existing markets.
