Butler Snow Law Firm Donates $100,000 To The Frist Center For The Visual Arts2012-06-26
Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC – which recently expanded its Nashville office by nearly 40 attorneys – today donated $100,000 to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, reinforcing the firm’s community involvement as it grows its presence in the city.
“We are committed to strengthening Nashville’s thriving and innovative business culture through our team of attorneys in Middle Tennessee,” said Donald Clark, Jr., chairman of Butler Snow. “Fostering a rich culture of arts and community involvement is a hallmark of our firm. We are proud of what The Frist Center for the Visual Arts has become for Nashville, the state and the nation.”
Tenn. Gov. Bill Haslam, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, former Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour, former U.S. Rep. John Tanner and other officials attended an event called “Embracing the Arts. Impacting the Community” at the Frist Center, which celebrated Butler Snow’s Nashville expansion and growing roots in the city. Clark and Dan H. Elrod, a leading member of Butler Snow’s Nashville team, presented the check to Susan H. Edwards, executive director and chief executive officer of the Frist Center. Business leaders, community representatives and dignitaries also attended the event.
“Having a healthy arts culture helps build robust communities throughout Tennessee, and this generous commitment from Butler Snow will help keep Nashville and our state on the leading edge of the arts nationwide,” Haslam said.
“This was a significant reason that we were drawn to Butler Snow,” Elrod said. “Butler Snow has a great heritage of embracing the arts and enriching the communities where we serve, and we are glad to be leading this charge in Nashville.”
The $100,000 donation will be used to broaden the Frist Center’s outreach globally.

Butler Snow recently expanded its Nashville office, as 37 attorneys joined the firm, bringing the total number of attorneys in Tennessee to almost 100. With this expansion, Butler Snow became one of the largest firms in the state and among the largest in the country, with more than 220attorneys practicing in 12 offices nationwide. The firm was recently ranked by TheNational Law Journal 250 – an annual survey of the country’s largest law firms.

Accredited by the American Association of Museums, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, located at 919 Broadway in downtown Nashville, Tenn., is an art exhibition center dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local, regional, U.S. and international sources in a program of changing exhibitions. The Frist Center’s Martin ArtQuest Gallery features interactive stations relating to Frist Center exhibitions.
