Many elected officials at the local and state levels have looked to lawyers in our Public Law and Finance Group for legal representation in election challenges, voting rights issues and campaign finance matters. Beyond the traditional representation of elected officials on these issues, businesses are finding the need to understand the applicability of state and federal campaign finance laws and regulations. More and more businesses are confronted with questions involving campaign contribution limits, political action committees and corporate expenditures. And, the laws and regulations affecting these issues have become almost as elaborate at the state level as they are at the federal level.
Lawyers in our Public Law and Finance Group are well versed in all aspects of election and campaign finance law. With a former Assistant Secretary of State for Elections and a former lead counsel for the Mississippi Standing Joint Legislative Committee on Reappointment and the Standing Joint Congressional Redistricting Committee as members of the group, our lawyers have the experience and knowledge to handle any election or campaign finance issue faced either by business or elected officials.
