Watson, Beckett Elected Officers of the Mississippi Chapter of Federal Bar Association

Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, has announced that Ben Watson and Ryan Beckett were elected officers of the Mississippi Chapter of the Federal Bar Association – the professional organization for private and government lawyers and judges involved in federal practice. Watson will serve as president, and Beckett as secretary.

Watson is a member of Butler Snow’s Commercial Litigation Group, and Beckett is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group and Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Industry Group. Both attorneys are located in Butler Snow’s Ridgeland office.

Watson served the Mississippi Chapter of the Federal Bar Association as secretary in 2007, treasurer in 2008 and vice president in 2009. He was selected as a member of the 2007 class of Leadership Mississippi and is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Recently, Watson was named to the Mid-South Rising Stars® for business litigation.

Watson earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting, magna cum laude, from Millsaps College as well as a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi.

Beckett serves as chair of the Defense Research Institute’s antitrust committee and as a member of the steering committee of the Defense Research Institute’s commercial litigation committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section on Antitrust, the Mississippi Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Recently, Beckett was named to the Mid-South Rising Stars® for business litigation and was awarded the 2009 Pro Bono Award by the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Mississippi Bar Association.

Beckett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Millsaps College, summa cum laude, and a Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Hudson Featured Presenter at ACI Mass Tort Conference

Butler Snow attorney Eric E. Hudson will co-present "Minimizing the Threat of Medical Monitoring Damages and Plaintiff Recruitment" at the upcoming American Conference Institute's seminar Managing and Resolving Mass Tort Products Liability Claims.  Hudson, a member of Butler Snow's Commercial Litigation Group, has extensive experience as counsel for a number of large corporations in various mass tort cases.

Butler Snow to Present The Physician Payment Sunshine Act: A Legal Overview

Machelle D. Shields and Denise D.
