Butler Snow Attorney Paula Ardelean Honored as Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

Jackson, Miss. - Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Paula Graves Ardelean of the firm’s Labor and Employment Group, has been selected as a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Ardelean will be inducted into the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers at a ceremony to be held in Washington D.C., on Saturday, November 7, 2009.

Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence. With the induction of Ardelean, Butler Snow now has two Fellows in the College.

At Butler Snow, Ardelean focuses on representation of employers in employment disputes in both state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.  She also provides advice to employers regarding employment contracts, policies, and compliance with employment laws. 

Ardelean is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, has been named by Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in Labor and Employment and is one of the 50 Leading Business Women by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2009.  Ardelean is currently serving as national Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee.  Ardelean is a Fellow of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar and received the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division President's Award for Public Service.  

Ardelean received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Mississippi and her B.S.B.A in Accounting from Mississippi College. She has also served on the Editorial Board of the Mississippi Law Journal.

Bob Frey A Featured Author in The Mississippi Lawyer

Butler Snow Attorney Robert M. Frey was featured recently in The Mississippi Lawyer, a publication of the Mississippi Bar.  His article, titled Improper Closing Argument in Civil Trial: A Trial Notebook Summary of Mississippi Case Law can be downloaded by clicking here.  Frey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where he focuses his practice in the areas of insurance sales practices, claims-handling and coverage, commercial dispute resolution and litigation, and federal jurisdiction.


Nealey Contributes to MDLA Quarterly

Butler Snow Attorney LeAnn W. Nealey recently authored an article for the MDLA Quarterly, a publication of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association (MDLA), titled "Preserving Summary Judgment Based on the Exclusion of Expert Testimony."  Nealey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where she focuses her practice on appellate advocacy, product liability and environmental law.
