Gulf Coast Firm Gex and Artigues Joins Butler Snow
Gulfport, Miss. – Attorneys Ronald J. "Ronnie" Artigues, Jr., and Patrick W. Kirby, formerly of the Gex and Artigues Law Firm, have joined the Gulf Coast office of Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens and Cannada, PLLC. Their association expands the firm's coastal presence to 16 attorneys. Artigues, a member of the firm’s Public Law and Finance Group, is a 1991 cum laude graduate of Tulane University’s Law School. He is active in governmental law sections of the American and Mississippi Bar Associations and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in public law to the firm. Artigues currently serves as counsel to a number of coastal public entities, including Board Attorney of the Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District (since 1995), Hancock County Utility Authority (since 1999) and Hancock County Solid Waste Authority (since 2000); and as County Attorney for Hancock County (since 2002). Artigues served the City of Waveland as City Attorney from 1995-2002. Kirby, also a member of the firm’s Public Law and Finance Group, graduated from Loyola University College of Law in 2002 where he received the Warren C. Mouledoux Professional Responsibility Award. In addition to his experience in public and governmental law, Kirby is a registered nurse and has represented healthcare and other clients in a number of legal fields, including malpractice defense and insurance defense. Kirby is a member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi and Harrison County Bar Associations and the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association.

Bob Frey A Featured Author in The Mississippi Lawyer
Butler Snow Attorney Robert M. Frey was featured recently in The Mississippi Lawyer, a publication of the Mississippi Bar. His article, titled Improper Closing Argument in Civil Trial: A Trial Notebook Summary of Mississippi Case Law can be downloaded by clicking here. Frey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where he focuses his practice in the areas of insurance sales practices, claims-handling and coverage, commercial dispute resolution and litigation, and federal jurisdiction.
Nealey Contributes to MDLA Quarterly
Butler Snow Attorney LeAnn W. Nealey recently authored an article for the MDLA Quarterly, a publication of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association (MDLA), titled "Preserving Summary Judgment Based on the Exclusion of Expert Testimony." Nealey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where she focuses her practice on appellate advocacy, product liability and environmental law.
