Commercial Litigator Melody McAnally Joins Butler Snow-Memphis

MemphisMelody McAnally, an experienced litigator, has joined the Memphis office of Butler Snow, where she will practice in the Commercial Litigation Group.

McAnally has represented high profile clients such as 3M Company, Payless, AOL Time Warner, Goodyear and CSX Transportation.  She recently tried an overtime case to a successful defense jury verdict on behalf of U-Haul of Mississippi.  She also is the co-author of “The Supreme Court Just Made Retaliation Cases Tougher,” which appeared in the Mississippi Manufacturers Association Legal Briefs.  McAnally is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Mississippi.

The cum laude graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law was editor-in-chief of the Mississippi College Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board.  McAnally earned her undergraduate degree at The University of Mississippi.  In 2003, she was awarded the Pro Bono Award by the Jackson Young Lawyers Association.

Bob Frey A Featured Author in The Mississippi Lawyer

Butler Snow Attorney Robert M. Frey was featured recently in The Mississippi Lawyer, a publication of the Mississippi Bar.  His article, titled Improper Closing Argument in Civil Trial: A Trial Notebook Summary of Mississippi Case Law can be downloaded by clicking here.  Frey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where he focuses his practice in the areas of insurance sales practices, claims-handling and coverage, commercial dispute resolution and litigation, and federal jurisdiction.


Nealey Contributes to MDLA Quarterly

Butler Snow Attorney LeAnn W. Nealey recently authored an article for the MDLA Quarterly, a publication of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association (MDLA), titled "Preserving Summary Judgment Based on the Exclusion of Expert Testimony."  Nealey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where she focuses her practice on appellate advocacy, product liability and environmental law.
