Jones, Thames Named Among Top Product Liability Lawyers In World

Butler Snow attorneys Christy Jones and Lee Davis Thames are among the top product liability lawyers in the world, according to a respected survey of corporate counsel and other leaders in the field. The 2007 Guide to the World’s Leading Product Liability Lawyers named Ms. Jones, Chair of Butler Snow’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Industry Department, in the Top 10 in the world.

The guide is part of Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides series, which covers key practice areas of business law. To identify top liability lawyers, researchers sent questionnaires to senior in-house counsel of Fortune 500 firms, partners at leading law firms and other practitioners in more than 40 jurisdictions worldwide. After a thorough interview and screening process, the leading nominees were chosen for the guide.

Jones has extensive national experience in litigation involving prescription and over-the-counter medications, medical devices, vaccines and other biologicals, contraceptives, herbicides, pesticides, asbestos and plastics. Jones is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. The Best Lawyers in America ® 2007 (Copyright 2006 by Woodward/White, Inc., Aiken, SC) named her in the categories of Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation.

Lee Davis Thames, a member of the firm’s Product Liability Group, concentrates his practice on drug and medical device litigation, toxic torts, product liability law, commercial litigation, complex litigation, and environmental liability law. He has tried more than 150 cases here and abroad. Thames has appeared in Best Lawyers since the first edition in 1983, and is named in the 2007 edition in the areas of Personal Injury Litigation, Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Product Liability Litigation.
