Eric Hudson Published in Major Law Journal

Memphis – Butler Snow attorney Eric Hudson has authored an article published by For The Defense, the professional journal of the Defense Research Institute (DRI).  Hudson is an attorney with Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens and Cannada (PLLC).  DRI, with more than 22,000 members, is the nation’s leading professional organization for corporate counsels and defense attorneys specializing in tort defense.

Hudson’s article, titled “Beyond the HazCom Standard in Failure to Warn Claims,” outlines the limitations of material safety data sheets (MSDS) in defending a claim alleging that a chemical manufacturer failed to warn of certain hazards associated with the use of a product.  He goes on to discuss specific steps a company can take to ensure that warnings about chemical materials are properly prepared and distributed, both improving employee safety and reducing the company’s potential exposure to litigation.

Hudson, based in Butler Snow’s Memphis office, focuses his practice on mass torts, chemical exposure, products liability, and commercial litigation, and is a frequent speaker on those topics.  He is chair of the DRI Young Lawyers Civility and Professionalism Initiative and a member of the DRI Young Lawyers Steering Committee.  He is also active on the Toxic Torts and Environmental Law Committee.
