Chambers USA ranks 15 Butler Snow Attorneys as Leaders

JACKSON, MS (June 25, 2007) Chambers USA 2007 ranks 15 attorneys from Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, as leaders in their fields.  Butler Snow is ranked nationally among the top firms in Product Liability, and Christy D. Jones, chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Department, is recognized for national leadership in that field.

Chambers, which bases its rankings on extensive interviews with clients and attorneys, notes the firm’s “dedication to remaining on the cutting edge of trial law” and wrote that “national counsels are alive to the value of calling on Butler Snow.” Chambers describes Jones as “a major player,” “the kind of person you want on your team.”

Rosenblatt is named in Corporate/Commercial: Bankruptcy. Don Clark, Jr. and John F. England are named in Corporate/Commercial: Municipal Finance. Jeffrey A. Walker is named for Labor & Employment. Phil B. Abernethy is named in Litigation: Construction. Jones, John C. Henegan, Lee Davis Thames and Robert C. Galloway are named in Litigation. Henegan is also named in Litigation: Appellate. Don B. Cannada is named in Real Estate.

In Mississippi, Chambers notes that Butler Snow’s “corporate practice is widely praised for being ‘cost-effective and business friendly,’ and time and again, interviewees commented on the ‘depth and strength’ of both the team and its client relationships.” In Litigation, “Butler Snow scores with its ‘client-focused, cost-effective, business-friendly’ staff.”

In Tennessee, Denise D. Burke is named in Healthcare and Jason G. Yarbro in Real Estate.  Of the Healthcare practice, Chambers writes that the firm has “built a formidable reputation” with lawyers who are “diligent and comprehensive; they think through all the issues.”

Chambers rankings are the result of eight months of research by a 40-person team based on in-depth interviews with clients and with attorneys. The rankings consider qualities such as technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness, astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities valued highly by the client.

Bob Frey A Featured Author in The Mississippi Lawyer

Butler Snow Attorney Robert M. Butler Snow Attorney LeAnn W. Nealey recently authored an article for the MDLA Quarterly, a publication of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association (MDLA), titled "Preserving Summary Judgment Based on the Exclusion of Expert Testimony."  Nealey is a member of the firm's Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where she focuses her practice on appellate advocacy, product liability and environmental law.
