Legal Experience
Key member of Federal Monitor Team appointed by the U.S. Justice Department for a medical device company deferred prosecution agreement.
Created and led global programs for medical device and pharmaceutical companies that ensured compliance with all applicable domestic / international laws and regulations, including the federal Anti-kickback statute (AKS), the False Claims Act (FCA), HIPAA, OIG Compliance Guidance, Federal Sentencing Guidelines, industry codes (PhRMA, AdvaMed, EucoMed, MEDECS, EFPIA), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Sarbanes Oxley, fraud, antitrust, insider trading, and conflicts of interest.
Led investigations into alleged violations of law and policy, including AKS, FCA, FCPA, Anti-boycott rules, insider trading, sexual harassment and employee misconduct.
Conducted comprehensive audits of commercial practices for medical device and pharmaceutical companies in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East; led remediation efforts relating to possible violations of law and policy.
Led all legal services for $3.5 billion division of major medical device company, including commercial transactions, intellectual property, regulatory, government fraud investigations, labor/employment, litigation and fraud compliance.
Led all Sabre/Travelocity legal activities in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including commercial transactions, labor/employment, compliance and software licensing/development.
