Stanton, a former U.S. District Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, took the opportunity after winning the category for Public Service to thank the staff at the U.S. Attorney’s office, who he said, don’t get the credit they deserve.
“I think, over the six to seven years that I served, we went through a lot together — frustration in a government shut down, budget cuts and even hiring freezes,” Stanton said. “Every day, the men and women stand and answer the call for justice, and I’m very proud to work with them and that they continue to do that.”
